5 Boxing Drills You Can Do at Home (No Gym Needed)
Share
Boxing training isn't just for fighters — it's one of the best full-body workouts you can do, and you don't need a gym to get started. All you need is a pair of mitts and a training partner (or a wall).
1. Jab-Cross Combinations The foundation of boxing. Focus on speed and form — snap your punches out and pull them back fast. Great for building shoulder endurance and coordination.
2. Slip and Counter Have your partner hold the mitts and call out punches. Practice slipping to the side and firing back with a counter. Builds reflexes and defensive instincts.
3. Body Shot Drills Lower the mitts to body level and work hooks to the body. Engages your core and teaches you to generate power from your hips.
4. Speed Rounds Set a 30-second timer and throw as many clean punches as possible. Rest 15 seconds. Repeat 5 times. This is brutal cardio disguised as boxing.
5. Combination Finishers End every round with a 5-punch combination of your choice. Builds muscle memory and keeps your training sharp.
